KItchen: Washington Square, Philadelphia Condo Remodel

KItchen

The Ayer Building on Washington Square, home to Talula's Garden and Daily on the ground floor, is an Art Deco gem. Sneak a peek in the lobby if you get a chance or go for a drink at Talula's Garden and sit at the bar for a glimpse.

For this project we started with a raw space upstairs that once housed the printing presses when the building was home to N.W. Ayer and Sons advertising agency. The remaining architecture was limited to high ceilings and huge original casement windows

overlooking Washington Square. We worked with the owner to select simple, modern finishes, including stunning wide walnut floors throughout. Details like the baseboard selection are in keeping with the building’s Deco details, but in general, the idea was to let the space, light and views do the heavy lifting.
