Buckminster Green acted as the general contractor on this project designed by Vestige Home. In this project featured in the Fine Homebuilding magazine Kitchens and Baths issue of 2020, we transformed a dated kitchen in which the layout was severely impacted by a circular powder room. Though our namesake Buckminster Fuller invented the geodesic dome, we can’t say we think a circle is a good shape for any room in a rectangular Philadelphia rowhome. In addition to the kitchen and bathroom, we worked with David Ramsay Cabinetmakers to create two built-ins for storage for this family of four.
We have worked with contractors in the past and had the “normal” frustrations- poor communication, quoted budget was no where near the final cost, took much longer than the timeline. Buckminster Green is absolutely not the norm when it comes to these “normal” frustrations. Kenny and his team completed our first floor renovation with outstanding communication, on time and on budget. We couldn’t be happier with both the completed work and the renovation process. The team worked with subcontractors that they obviously had great relationships with which made the whole process go smoothly. When the plumbers planned vacation might have caused a delay, the Buckminster team was able to have other subcontractors get work done ahead of schedule so the plumbers could complete their work and keep the project on time.
